Weighted Blanket - Gravena

Gravena is filled with glass beads, sandwiched between two layers of soft polyester and distributed across sewn compartments. The filling doesn't shift into a corner after three nights.
The cover is cotton, not polyester. Under nine kilos, that matters: cotton lets air through where a synthetic traps heat. And the cover is removable — you take it off and wash it on its own, without having to put eleven kilos in the machine. That's the number one objection to this kind of product, and it's solved.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified: the textiles have been tested for harmful substances.
Which weight to choose — the rule of thumb is about 10% of your body weight. A little more if you like feeling well wrapped, a little less if this is your first weighted blanket.
- 104 x 152 cm — 2.3 kg. Compact format, for your lap or occasional use.
- 122 x 183 cm — 4.5 or 6.8 kg. One person, single bed.
- 152 x 203 cm — 6.8 or 9.1 kg. One person, full-length coverage.
- 198 x 216 cm — 11.3 kg. Large format, for a double bed.
A weighted blanket is chosen for one person, not two: the weight needs to rest on a single body. On a shared bed, get one each.
Usage precautions — A weighted blanket isn't suitable for young children. If you have sleep apnoea, respiratory conditions, circulatory conditions, or reduced mobility, ask a healthcare professional before using it. You must be able to push it off without effort.

The fabric is a 300 to 350 g/m² polar fleece. It's described as “extra thick,” and that's the right word: your hand sinks right into it. The warmth kicks in immediately, not after ten minutes. The fabric stays soft, doesn't weigh on the shoulders, and dries fast — you can wear it in the evening and put it back on the next morning.
Ankle-length cut, shawl collar, tie belt and two pockets. Deliberately loose: it fits over pyjamas without pulling at the armholes. One cut, unisex.
What Nuvéla isn't. A cotton towel. It warms you up, it doesn't dry you off. If you're after something to dry off with after a bath, this isn't it. If you're after something to stay warm in for the hour after, this is exactly it.
